Job Title: HR Coordinator (Compliance & Onboarding)

Location: Fountain Valley, CA (100% Onsite)

Duration: Temporary (4-6 weeks + possible extension)

Pay: $28-$30/hr.

We are looking for a knowledgeable Temporary HR Coordinator to join our Human Resources department and assist with compliance and onboarding activities. Our client's organization is a major player in the automotive aftermarket industry, supporting several well-known vehicle brands throughout North America. Position Overview

The Temporary HR Coordinator will play a key role in maintaining employment verification compliance and supporting new hire onboarding processes. This position ensures that all documentation is processed accurately and on time, contributing to a smooth experience for both new employees and internal stakeholders.

Primary Responsibilities

I-9 & Employment Authorization Compliance

(Main area of responsibility)

  • Complete and validate Form I-9 documentation following federal guidelines.
  • Track and monitor employment authorization documents (EADs), including renewal timelines.
  • Maintain secure and organized I-9 files in both electronic and paper formats.
  • Conduct periodic audits to confirm compliance and address any issues.
  • Assist in preparing documentation for internal reviews or external compliance audits.

Onboarding Coordination

  • Prepare onboarding packets and ensure all required new-hire forms are completed promptly.
  • Organize orientation schedules and help manage related logistics.
  • Create and update employee files and verify information accuracy within the HRIS.

General HR Support

  • Respond to questions related to onboarding procedures and work authorization requirements.
  • Provide administrative assistance to the HR team, including documentation, reporting, and filing.
  • Participate in departmental projects and offer support as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
  • 3-5 years of experience in HR coordination, onboarding, or compliance-focused HR support.
  • Strong understanding of Form I-9 requirements and employment authorization documentation.
  • Experience working with ADP Workforce highly desired.
  • Strong Excel skills required
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills when interacting with employees and internal teams.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Organized, proactive, and capable of managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
